That’s right friends,

I am going to take the leap and do what I have already been doing all my life.  I am going to Teach my sweet boys and lead them into this world.  Who better for the job then the person that loves them most?  And I am so thankful that the person that loves them second most, is doing this with me.  I am excited for our family and all the great things to come.

Here are two quick reasons we decided to teach our children this year:

Freedom 

With Lee’s job we are given the opportunity to see places that we may not see without it.  Not fancy trips, but towns and cities that we may not travel to without purpose.  It is so fun to find a new playground or an old national forest.  Lessons take place all round, not only in a room at a desk.

Accountability

I don’t want to put my boys in a bubble, or protect them from the real world.  I don’t want to isolate them from social experience.  I want the opposite of that.  I want them to have the ability to open all the doors that they pass and make the choice with their future that suites them.  I didn’t feel prepared for the “Real World” when I left my parents house and went to college.  There was so much that I still didn’t know, but the decisions I was making were making a huge impact on my future.  With very little guidance, I navigated my way through some very expensive and almost dangerous experiences.  I know that is apart of life and apart of growing up.  I am vowing right now to be accountable for the skills and lessons that my boys learn.  Who else wants them to succeed more then me?  Who else wants them to be better and smarter and stronger and richer and more successful then I am?  I am a teachers daughter.  I know that teachers have this passion. I started by telling you that I have been teaching my whole life.  I have, I was taught to teach at a young age.  I am overly qualified.

We are all excited for the journey in preparing for adulthood.  I am so thankful that I will be the one leading my boys there.
