A friend gifted me an onion once. She wrapped it in tissue paper and put it in a pretty bag with a note that said something like, “Get it Out!”.
Her intention was for me to cut the onion and cry and get over whatever problem I was having. Boyfriend, family issues, job worries, whatever it was.
It worked, I cut the onion and cried. It was perfect for what it was and when it was over, it was done.
This is not one of those lessons.
This lesson is about NOT CRYING.
See, this season of life is pretty great and I don’t have many reasons to cry or need to let it go.
That’s why Thieves oil on the cutting board is so amazing.

I didn’t even use a drop, I just opened the bottle and left it right on the board. I chopped my onions and they were so juicy. The essential oils were dripping out of the un-chopped, but cut onions. I sure do love essential oils and I love to use the “onion juice” in our meals. But it is that same liquid that makes you cry, well the aromatics from that liquid I should say. Very awesome self defense for the plant, blinding predators with tears. Not so awesome for the humans that love onions!
Problem Solved, you’re welcome.
